Assessment Centres as an integral part of a Re-structuring exercise

NBA worked with a Housing Support Organisation to assist with their organisational re-structuring. Our role was to place Senior Managers into roles within the ‘new’ organisation via an Assessment Centre programme.

Working closely with the client we designed and coordinated an assessment process which targeted the core Management and Leadership competencies needed in the business as it moved forward. Assessment exercises were carefully chosen and consisted of business simulations, role plays with actors, presentations and structured interviews.

NBA consultants worked alongside Senior Executives from the client organisation to deliver feedback to candidates – which consisted of a personalised assessment report and individual action/development plan. These sessions were varied as they covered discussions on performance, organisational or role ‘fit’ and difficult issues around re-deployment or exit.

Subsequently, we worked with the Executive Team to formulate a development strategy involving individual and group solutions for the new Leadership Group.

Outcome: The client organisation made robust decisions about the ‘right’ Leaders to take the business forward. Those going through the assessment programme saw it as a challenging but fair and equitable process – which resulted in the provision for their ongoing growth and development within the company and outside of it.
